Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of OlympIQ (the "Service"), an online platform for organizing Science Olympics, built and run by a single developer ("I", "me", or "my"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility and accounts

OlympIQ is intended for use by teachers, club executives, and students, generally in a Grade 9 to 12 school setting. If you are a minor, you may use the Service only with the involvement and permission of a supervising teacher, school, or parent or guardian where required. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential and for all activity under your account.

2. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms.
• Attempt to access data, accounts, or Olympics you are not authorized to access.
• Probe, scan, or attempt to breach the security of the Service, or circumvent bot-protection measures.
• Upload or share content that is unlawful, harassing, harmful, or infringes others' rights.
• Disrupt or interfere with the Service or the servers and networks that support it.

3. Your content

You retain ownership of the content you submit (such as schedules, forms, rankings, and materials). You grant me a limited license to store, process, and display that content solely to operate the Service for you and other authorized members of your Olympic. You are responsible for the content you submit and for having the right to submit it.

4. Roles and responsibilities

Teachers and executives have staff powers, including managing schedules, forms, materials, membership, and attendance records (including strike counts) for their Olympic. If you use these powers, you are responsible for using them fairly and in accordance with your school's or club's own policies.

5. Service availability

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. I may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, and I do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that data will always be preserved. As a safety measure, the Service may go offline automatically if operating costs exceed a set limit.

6. Disclaimer of warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by law, OlympIQ is provided without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. I do not warrant that the Service will meet your requirements or be available at any particular time.

7. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, I will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, or for any loss of data, arising out of or related to your use of the Service. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

8. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. I may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or use the Service in a way that could harm others or the Service.

9. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by my Privacy Policy, which explains how I handle your personal information.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. You agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in that province for any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service.

11. Changes to these Terms

I may update these Terms from time to time. When I do, I will revise the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the revised Terms.
